My favorite neighborhood stop. Come by for the delicious hot flaky Jamaican patties. Seriously flavourful coming from a vegetarian chef and philosopher of a owner. I also got a fantastic Jerk Melt. I will be coming back and back again. Also! They have jars of cocoa butter here for beauty enthusiasts. The only flaky stuff you get are the patties here.

The Jerk chicken sandwich was great. I was at Factor E and this place was only a two minute walk down the road. Would recommend anyone waiting for their car to be serviced walk down here to get something to eat.

An absolute hidden gem! I have driven by here many times assuming it was a classic corner store. Far from it! The food is top notch, as are the local products they sell on the shelf. The chili oil is the best I have ever had. The staff is also extremely friendly. I will be back soon!

Perfect little hidden gem just between Venables and Hastings in the East side. Do yourself a favour and get at least two fresh hot patties (I got three). Can't go wrong with the hot cocoa either. Roger's so friendly and welcoming too. PS: it's really warm inside, haha. And seating is minimal.

Wow! What a great find! You must try this little hole in the wall. Absolutely warm and welcoming. I had 2 patties; lentil and curry chicken and OH MY I might have to go get more for the way home! Best I've ever had. Little local shopping room in the back corner with local artist work and natural beauty products! Very cool spot, you'll have to go try for yourself.

Today was a cold and blustery day and I felt like I need a little hit of sunshine, so I took myself to Rise Up for lunch. I ordered a veggie patty and a really delicious carrot ginger soup. Everything was spot on and the music enhanced the warm environment. It was nice to hear the proprietor, whistling and singing as he worked. As a small business owner myself I know that when I’m whistling or singing at work it’s because I’m in my joyful flow and exactly where I need to be. I finished the meal with an incredibly complex and delicious Cocoa tea and cinnamon bun. Absolutely divine. I hope this Cocoa tea is a constant or at least a seasonal constant...I I can see this placing really high in the hot chocolate fest that takes place in Jan/Feb every year!
